News/Gimmicks

What a Good Egg!
People love our breakfast
sandwiches so much, they're
having them for lunch.  For
carnivores, try our bacon, egg
and cheddar bagel sandwich on a
zesty everything bagel, or our
green eggs and ham focaccia (the
green comes from our wonderful
pesto sauce).  Vegetarians will
love our egg double cheese
bagel, or our pesto omelet
focaccia.  Yum, yum.  Have some!

And Now...The Great Bagellini!
Yes, we've innovatively combined
the New York bagel with the
panini sandwich. The result:
The Bagellini!  Try one of our
new bagellinis for lunch soon.
Two veggies and two meaties
available.  And you'll find
they're a sweet deal.  It's all
just part of our very own
economic stimulus package.

Waffles, waffles, waffles!
Try our Red + White waffle,
which is our delicious
buttermilk waffle topped with
homemade whipped cream and
strawberries.  Or else, our
chocolate chocolate chip waffle,
the chocolate lover's dream-come-
true.  We can also bake-in some
walnuts to any of our original
waffles.  We call them grass-
hoppers, of course, since they
add that extra crunch.  Don't
forget Waffle Wednesday, when
all waffles are $1 off!

Free Flavor Friday
We've been doing this for years,
but not everyone has heard:
flavors are free on Friday!
(Fine print:  premium drinks
only, excluding Ghirardelli.)

Bring 'em Some Coffee
You can "rent" an airpot filled
with our rich coffee for just
$10. This is enough to serve 10
people, and the price includes
cups, cream, sugar, etc.  Call
10 minutes before you need it,
and we'll get it started for you!

Indie on "Buzzed into Madison"

From The Onion's
Madison Decider 2008
:
"Indie Coffee looks like just another
coffee shop from the outside, but inside,
the café houses a music venue, a waffle
house, a sandwich shop, and an art
gallery all at once. Indie Coffee is known
especially for its waffles, including the
classic Belgian in your choice of
buttermilk, chocolate, or multigrain; the
grasshopper waffle, with walnuts baked
in; and “The Works” waffle, studded with
walnuts and chocolate chips, then
topped with strawberries and whipped
cream. These sugar-rush concoctions
are available all day, but around 10 a.
m., Indie Coffee breaks out the bagels
and focaccia to build some of the most
original sandwiches in town. Sink your
teeth into the honey, fig, and goat
cheese with spinach on cinnamon-raisin
bread, or the turkey-walnut wrap with
spinach, tomato, and gorgonzola. Call
ahead and they’ll have breakfast or
lunch hot and ready for you when you
arrive.  Good for: “Indie” overtones and
a menu that transcends the mainstream."

Here's what others are saying:

"In addition to Indie's great coffee, food
and friendly service, it's also a forum to
support independent music and film…
Indie has a reputation among artists for
its relaxed atmosphere and intimate
setting."
Madison Magazine, December 2007

“Of all the coffee shops I've been to in
Madison, there's something I just like
about Indie Coffee, on Regent Street.
…It's not pretentious, it's not cookie-
cutter, and it doesn't wear its quirks on
its sleeve. Service is friendly and the
place is clean, too.”
Isthmus Daily Page, September 2007

"For the best cup of coffee in Madison,
head over to Indie Coffee on Regent
Street and say hi to JJ and Barrett. Get
yourself a waffle and a cup of coffee and
mooch off their wireless internet….In
fact, they also have live shows by
national acts there from time to time,
and they're usually free."
POST, June 2007

“If you brew it, they will come. So it
seems at Indie Coffee, 1225 Regent
Street, which has attracted a string of
national acts since its opening in 2004…
[Indie] has had an impressive list of,
appropriately enough, indie bands
come through."”
Isthmus Daily Page, June 2007

"If you've never been to Indie Coffee,
perhaps you are unaware that they have
free wireless and serve [yum]WAFFLES
[yum] all day, every day….Waffles for
dinner and Chad Vader, does it get any
better than that?"
Dane 101, February 2007

"I admire Indie's eclectic evening
programs of film, video, music and
occasional reading events."
Isthmus Daily Page

“The most arresting menu item is
probably the honey, fig and goat cheese
sandwich ($6) with the aforementioned
ingredients and spinach on grilled
cinnamon raisin bread. If you love goat
cheese, this savory-and-sweet treat
should end up lodged permanently in
your memory....And don't forget those
waffles -- they’re not just for breakfast
any more… My preferred flavor, the
chocolate waffle, arrives crisp and never
fails to please in its simplicity.”
Isthmus Daily Page, September 2007
